Why does the water became cold when we add ice cubes to it

Because that ice dissolves in water so, it becomes cold.

When we add ice cubes to the normal water the latent (hidden) heat of fusion(melting) from the surroundings make the ice lose its coldness and it transfers to the water.
This is the reason why the water became cold when we add ice cubes to it.
