why does the white light split on the first refracting face of prism

White light is a combination of violet..indigo..blue..green...yellow...orange...red...and all des light rays hav different wavelength which makes der speed different...but der speed is same in air n vaccum dats y it appears white...but as soon as it strikes d 1st phase of prisim it splits in2 its constituent colours due 2 d different speed in glass of each light ray of different colour ...
