Why does the wrist watch stop working when we place a magnet on
itt ???​

Answer:

A watch is a mechanical product. Most of the time it is made of magnetic materials. Thus when we keep a magnet near the watch it's components interact with the magnetic field of the magnet. This sometimes makes the watch slow down and for sufficiently bigger magnets it may even make the watch to stop counting time.
