Why does topsoil have more humus than subsoil

humus is dead and decaying matter of dead plants and animals .it is decomposed mainly by the decomposers such as mushrooms ,microorganisms,and worms.They all live in warm and oxygen rich place. These all two things present in topsoil not in subsoil. Therefore, more humus is present in topsoil

In the top soil, animals and plants die and soil absorbs them forming humus but sub soil cannot absorb it, so less humus is formed.....
