There are 2 types of twins.
Identical and Fraternal Twins
Identical- Sometimes, when an egg cell gets fertilized, the zygote gets divided into 2 parts...
Each part then grows into a baby. As both babys are produced from the same zygote, they are identical.
They are either both boys or both girls
Fraternal- Sometimes 2 egg cells are released by the ovaries. The sperm fertilizes both these egg cells. This forms 2 zygotes.
Each zygote then grow into different babys.
They are unidnetical to each other and so they are called Fraternal twins.
They are usually 2 boys or 2 girls or 1 boy and 1 girl.
