an earthen pot is made of earth/ mud and has many small holes when the water is kept in the pot the water start's oozes out, now to evaporate and change into vapour that water needs to absorb best from the surrounding ..... so obviously the water placed inside the glass and metal vessel cannot seep out and evaporate
