Due to very high salt content in ocean water it is not useful for any day to day activities and we depend on freshwater for the same. Only 3% of all the water found on Earth is freshwater. It is a resource which we must use carefully as it responsible for sustaining life on our planet.

Approximately 98% of water present in seas and oceans are saline and is not suitable for human use. Only 2% of water is not sufficient to kill the thirst of this big human civilization. That's why water have a limited use for humankind.
