Why does we hissing souns which quick lime (cao)react with water?

When Quicklime reacts with water, a hissing sound is produced because when we add water to CalciumOxide the reaction is highly exothermic as a result CarbonDioxide is released in the form of bubbles along with heat energy. Hence, the Carbon dioxide (in the form of bubbles) is released with a hissing sound.
