Lots of protein is needed by the weight lifters because weight lifting involves moving a resistance through a range of motion by bending joints and constructing muscles.  Weight lifters need at least double protein intake of the average person due to the rigors of resistance training.

Protein is an important nutrient that help in rebuilding muscle strength  and expedites recovery.  That is the reason why weight lifters need it to heal their muscles so that they don't suffer micro tears.

Proteins gives your muscles a constant  supply of nutrients and also keeps energy level on an even keel.

Weight builders usually concentrate on building muscles; this muscle building requires amino acids and proteins.

Explanation:

  • Usually proteins are nothing but heteropolymers made up of amino acids, these amino acids help in building the muscle mass of the body, thereby giving more strength to the weight lifters.
  • And also each gram of protein contains 4 calories of energy that fuels their activities.
  • Building up of weight also causes tearing of muscles and this muscle damage is repaired by the proteins in the body.
