Why does when stain of curry on a white cloth becomes red when soap is applied?

Because soap is basic in nature so when it is applied on a cloth having curry stain the cloth becomes red

Curry contains turmeric. Turmeric is an indicator which gives red colour with a base since soap is a base so we get red colour..
