Explanation:

Hello friend,

Good question !

Here is your answer:-

First this question is from the poem "After Blenheim" written by Robert Southey.

Summary

This poem describes the ruthlessness of war that held in Blenheim at the left bank of the river in 1704. In this poem,an old man's grandchildren had found a skull in the garden while playing and asking what is it. The explanation from the author and the repeation of the line "twas a famous victory" made the poem more horrific about the after effects of the war.

Now,I have beat around the bush enough and let's answer the question:-

➔ Why does Wilhelmine demand to know the reason for such a battle ?

Wilhelmine was a small kid who doesn't know about the cruelty of war. As a skull was found in the garden and after asking grandpa (Old Kasper) that it was from a war,he was very curious to know about the war as he has never heard "war" in his life and how was it like. So,because of his innocent thought (which doesn't know that it can't handle the cruelness of a war) he was curious to know about a new thing.
