Why does women had not encouraged to do in politics during ancient period

Women were not been encouraged in politics because  they were not  believed to be powerful while some were.㏑Ancient times people did not like to be ruled by a woman let us take an example :

Rudrama Devi:

She was the daughter of GANAPATHI DEVA she usually dressedup like a man.On knowing that she was a woman the people revolted against her on the 8/9th  revolt she was killed because she ruled them.
