why does wooden plank bend when books are piled up on one spot but not bend when the same number of the books are scattered across at​

As we know that

Pressure = Force/ Area

Here we notice that Pressure is inversely proportional to Area

So if area is less Pressure is more

And If Area is more Pressure is less

So in the first case when books were pillied up the area was less and pressure was more so the force was more and the plank bends

Whereas in the second case the area is more so the pressure is less and so the force is less. So the plank doesn't bend
