A number of metals that do not reactwith water will react with dilute acids.Metals such as magnesium, zinc and iron react quite readily with cold dilute hydrochloric or sulphuric acid to produce hydrogen gas and salts. ... Less reactive metals such as copper, silver and gold do not react with these acids
