Why doesn't copper oxide (basic oxide) react with water?
The same for FeO, Fe²O³...(metals that are not in the first or second family)
I know some of them are anphoteric like Al2O3.
I am asking about the basic oxides.
Please help!

Answer:

Copper Oxide is very less reactive (it lies lower in activity series)

so it is unable to displace the element hydrogen in the compound water.

Hope it is helpful.
