Why doesn't the blood clot in the blood vessels? Blood contains platelet cells which help in clotting of blood when there is any cut on our body. Why doesn't it clot when blood is present inside the blood vessel in a normal healthy body?

Though blood contains platelets it never clots. This is because clotting is initiated only by the disintegrated or wounded platelets (when there is a cut in the body)

Answer:

Blood proteins, prothrombin and fibrinogen do not form blood clot inside blood vessels as these are in inactive form due to the presence of anticoagulant heparin. At the injury, these are activated by thrombokinase enzymes of bloods platelets.
