Why don’t covalent bonds conduct electricity

they make very weak bonds so complete transfer of electron does not take place.so,it does not conduct electricity.

Covalent compounds do not conduct electricity because they do not have free electrons or ions. Current result from the motion of electrons or ions, which are charged species. Ionic compounds furnish ions solvent. On dissolving covalent compounds in aqueous solution, they do not form ions, so they are poor conductors of electricity.
