Why don't like democracy?

Frankly speaking, I hate democracy. A country needs a leader that can take decisions for the betterment of it's people and improve a country's reputation on a global basis. Democracy seems to be the best form of government but it's the worst after dictatorship.
In a democracy the leader changes every 4 or 5 years (depending on the country). Each candidate has his own agenda and political beliefs. The elected president will act according to one. I do know that the citizens choose their leader but how eligible are they to cast their vote for the best candidate??
The democratic process relies on the assumption that citizens (the majority of them, at least) can recognize the best political candidate, or best policy idea, when they see it. But a growing body of research has revealed an unfortunate aspect of the human psyche that would seem to disprove this notion, and imply instead that democratic elections produce mediocre leadership and policies.
