Nowadays too FUSES are being used but they are rather be improving and automating and you don't realize the fuse present ------> Read Down

What could happen if fuses weren't used in circuits?

There are three main concerns

Electrocution - if people touch metal objects where the current hasn't been shut off

Fire - as the still flowing current heats up the wires and/or metal it is passing through so t hat it starts combustion in the structure around it.

Damage of Electrical Equipment - heat from a short circuit will destroy circuit boards, resistors etc in an electrical device.
