BECAUSE INSIDE THE SOLID THE MOLECULES ARE TIGHTLY PACKED(LESS INTERCELLULAR SPACE).THEY ARE RIGID. THEY BREAK WHEN ANY EXTERNAL FORCE IS APPLIED(THEY ARE BRRITLE)
