becoz it require more land sometimes agricultural land is used to build dams and large forest are cutted down to build dams and so on

Hydropower dams flood large areas, force people to relocate, threaten freshwater biodiversity, disrupt subsistence fisheries, and leave rivers dry – substantially affecting the ecosystem. That’s why some people don’t want dams to be constructed.
