Explanation:

Because we are exerting the same force as that of gravity. Hence the two forces cancel out each other and we don't fall to the centre of the Earth

Answer:

ok here is the thing when we are falling down all the forces that are acting on us are not balanced due to which gravity dominates and we fall to the ground and when we are on the ground ,contact is created due to which contact force called the normal reaction or the normal force acts on our body( normal force acting upwards and the gravity acting downwards) this normal force is primarily created due to a applied force( the weight of the body) in contact ,due to this equal and opposite forces they cancel out each other

but there are new approaches to explain this like the electromagnetism and gravity playing a role like

when you sit in a place the repulsion b/w the like charges of you and the body in contact(earth) effectively oppsoses the attractive nature of gravity there by cancelling each other
