Curd and sour substances contain acids. Acids react with metals to produce salt and hydrogen gas. So, if such substances are kept in copper container, the acid will react and the container will be corroded.

Sour substance contain Acids in them which react with the materials like Brass or copper which also have a high chances of spoiling the food kept in the vessel..
Hence we do not store sour substances in Brass or Copper vessels
