Answer:

A desert cooler cools betteron a hot dry day because on a hot dry day temperature is high and humidityis less which helps in betterevaporation. Due to the higher rate of evaporation it gives better coolingeffect.

\underline{\textbf{Cooling caused by evaporation:}}

The cooling caused by evaporation is based on the fact that when a liquid evaporates , it draws the latent heat of vaporisation from anything when it touches and by losing heat , that thing gets cooled .

The factors affecting evaporation are :-

1. Temperature : Rate of evaporation increases on increasing temperature .

2. Surface area : The rate of evaporation increases on increasing temperature .

3. Humidity : The rate of evaporation increases when humidity is low and it decreases when humidity is high .

4. Wind speed : The rate of evaporation of a liquid increases with increasing wind speed .

By keeping these points in mind , let's answer the question :-

\underline{\huge\mathfrak{Answer:}}

The cooling in a desert foom cooler is caused by the evaporation of water . We are alresdy known to the fact that , evaporation causes cooling . A desert cooler cools better on a hot and dry day because the higher temperature on a not dry day increases the rate of evaporation of water , and the dryness og the air ( less humudity ) also increases the rate of evaporation of water . And as a result. due to increased rate of evaporation of water , a desert room cooler cools better on a hot and dry day .
