Why dose ice cream appear cooler to the teeth than ice cold water?

Answer:

Ice cream has more latent heat of vaporization as compared to ice cold water. Since to melt ice, latent heat is required, this heat is taken by ice cream and ice cold water by our teeth or mouth.

As ice has more latent heat, it will take more heat from teeth and makes it feel colder as compare to ice cold water which is already in water form i.e. melted.
