Why duffusion in a gas is quicker than in a liquid? ans?

Generally when we compared between liquid and gas,we know that the molecules in gas are far a part when compared to liquids.

hence in the process of diffusion,where gas molecules will reach the surrounding s faster and spread. but in liquids it is not that much fast as compared to gases.

Even the particles move faster in gases as compared to liquids.
