Why dust fall on beating carpet with a stick?
Answers
Newton's First law of Motion - Law of Inertia : is the reason behind it.
Law of inertia states that an object continues to be in the state of rest or moves with a constant velocity unless acted upon by an outside force.
When the carpet is beaten with a stick, the carpet beings to move whereas the dust particles are still in rest. Hence the dust particles fall down.
Dust are fine particles of solid matter. It generally consists of particles in the atmosphere that come from various sources such as soil, dust lifted by wind (an a eolian process), volcanic eruptions, and pollution.
dust particles are very light and when we beat carpet with stick and apply some force with stick on the carpet the dust particles blows away from the carpet due to that force which was applied on the carpet by stick.
