Earths crust is made of 2 types...continental plates made of sial rocks are 30 to 70 km thick
Oceanic plates are made of aima rocks and are 2 to 5 km thick
They all are pieces of landmass or ocean that float over the hot magma beneath the earth.
Thus, continuous mogement takes place in these tectonic plates.
