why Earth is called a greenhouse?

because the earths atmosphere contains co2 (carbon dioxide) due to this earth gets warm and green house gases include no,methane if green house gases level increases it leads to global warming there are many reasons for causing global warming such as
1. deforestation
2. lack of water

Gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide do what the roof of a greenhouse does. During the day, the Sun shines through the atmosphere. Earth's surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, Earth's surface cools, releasing the heat back into the air.
