Why earth not moves towards sun

The earth is constantly trying to fall into the sun, but it keeps missing.  That is essentially what an orbit is.  The sun exerts an attractive force on the earth, accelerating the earth directly towards the sun.  This acceleration is constantly taking place.  However, the earth also has some sideways momentum (perpendicular to the direction towards the sun).  So as it falls towards the sun, it also moves to the side.  As long as that sideways motion is enough to "side-step" the sun, the earth will orbit instead of crashing. So rather than falling or being attracted towards sun our beautiful earth revolves around the mighty sun!.... if you liked then pls Mark as brainliest

<b> Earth can be considered to be a satellite of Sun as it revolves around it periodically. A satellite remains in its orbit if it has a constant mechanical energy as required by the orbit. This energy might have been imparted to Earth during the Big Bang. But as the time progresses, mechanical energy must have been dissipated/ used. Thus Earth should be changing the size of its orbit around the Sun. Maybe, due to the same reason we are experiencing intense seasons
