why earthing is important in electric appliances?

earthing is impotant because due to this we are prevent from shocks. it is a safty factor
this converse all electricity into the groung and our appliances prevent from short circuit.

It's an electrical connection between the exposed metallic parts of an electrical appliance or installation and the earth, regarded to have zero political, dangerous level of potential or voltage that endangers the user's life.
