Glass rods is an insulator so that when we rub it with silk or any other clothes ,the electrons from the rod gets transferred into the clothes leaving therod with an overall positivecharge.,therefore electrons can easilymove and go through the glass rod making it charged and we can hold itin hand because of it is .
