Why efficiency of a Carnot engine is independent of the nature of working substance performing the carnot cycle of operation?

it is due to the fact that it solely depends upon the the type isothermal and adiabatic processes and thus the work done and heat transfer required to do that work. thus making it independent of nature of substance.
