First trace the field lines using compass as the needle Points the path the field lines at that instant. If the field lines intersect one another, then the compass needle will point two different directions at the same instant which is not possible.

Electric field lines can never intersect one another because if they intersect, then at the point of intersection, the electric field lines will be in two different directions (at the same point) which is not possible. Hence the electric field lines do not intersect each other.
