because the charge cannot stay inside the solid metallic bulk it always appear on the surface of the metal.

therefore the electric field inside a conductor is zero.

shreyash64: what if i take a sphere solid and it is hollow from inside and at that position i put a charge then what happen
abhi5251: charge can stay if the sphere is hollow.
abhi5251: otherwise it does not
shreyash64: i am asking what will happen to conductor will it gain any charge
abhi5251: it conduct electricity as charge can flow and producers electricity.
shreyash64: ok..

hey!!
charge inside a conductor cannot exist if somehow any charge is present inside a conductor then the free electrons of conductor are in motion and they tends the charge at surface of conductor

hope it helps u

shreyash64: so what if i put a charge inside a hollow solid conductor....what happpen
Anonymous: if we put a charge on a hollow solid conductor then due to induction if we put positive charge then by induction it creates negative charge on the surface of Conductor
shreyash64: ok but there is mistake ..when i put a positive charge inside a hollow conductor then negative charge will appear on innerside and on outermost region positive will appear and magnitude is equal to that positive charge...
Anonymous: yeah sorry it bymistake
shreyash64: haha dont feel sorry because after your reason i studied it in deep...so thanks
Anonymous: them my pleasure
shreyash64: yes ..
