why electrons in the last shell have more energy than electrons in shells nearer to nucleus ?

according to bohr there is the orbits in which electrons are revolving have fixed amount of energy as we move away from the nucleus the energy of the shell increases. an electron loses or gain is energy only when it jump from one cell to another cell as long as electron remains in a particular cell it neither lose or gain the energy. when an electron jumps from Lower shell To higher shell energy is gained.
