Electroplating breaks the contact of Oxygen with outer atmosphere  due to which they become rust free.
Electroplating helps in preparation of useful alloys such as brass and bronze.
Electroplated substances have all the characters of expensive metals and they are cheaper also.
         That is why electoplating is better than using expensive metals.
