Why electrovalent compound have high melting and boiling point

electrovalent bond is also called ionic bond and electrostatic bond .... it has more boiling and melting point because it has stable configuration .. so this is also results in stronger bond..

Electrovalent compound have high melting and boiling point because considerable amount of energy is needed to break strong inter ionic bonds.
