Elephants can hear low notes:

Elephants and whales can hear frequencies much lower (infrasonic sound) than the range of human audibility. Elephants are able to hear a sound coming from up to about 8 kilometers away. The distances from which they can communicate with each other is also amazing.

Elephants can communicate using very low frequency sounds, with pitches below the range of human hearing. ... The other possibility is that elephant infrasounds are produced like human speech or singing, but because the elephant larynx is so large, they are extremely low in frequency.
