Why endocrine glands release their secretion into the blood?

Endocrine glands are ductless glands. This means that unlike exocrine glands which pour their hormones in ducts that transport them to the target cells, endocrine cells do not have any ducts. So they pour their secretions that is hormones directly into the blood and the blood transports them to the target cells.
