England ruled India because Indian subcontinent had many minerals like coal and petroleum and other mineral resources. Indians also had many types of spices like cardamom, salt etc. They especially came for black pepper which was very good in India. They also ruled India for doing trade of these spices and fabrics. They knew that Indians were very rich. They only meant for doing trade but gradually they turned up ruling our India
