Complex ecosystems and food chains in the environment provide unlimited services for the support of life. In the absence of damage, the environment is very efficient in self-stability through the complex interaction of living species. Humans benefit by being part of this ecosystem. Any harmful alteration to the components of the environment brings adverse impacts across all species. For instance, destruction of trees would lead to the accumulation of toxic gases and a shortage of oxygen in the air. As a result, protection against harmful rays of the sun would be disabled, causing uncontrolled temperatures and adverse health effects.
There is a significant threat in environmental degradation due to the advancement in technology and other human activities. This destruction is avoidable through environmentally friendly goals such as maintenance of excellent water quality, healthy air and the preservation of biodiversity. Every individual has a role in the achievement of these goals and, therefore, protection of the environment.
