why equator is called as 0 degree?

BECAUSE it is an imaginary line in the center of the earth. the center point referred as 0

equator is called as zero degree because equator is the imaginary line that divides globe into two equal parts so equator is in centre and call zero degree

it is also called zero degree because that day and night r equal in equator due to the division of Globe
