The most important biogeochemical cycles are the carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, oxygen cycle, phosphorus cycle, and the water cycle. The biogeochemical cycles always have a state of equilibrium. The state of equilibrium occurs when there is a balance in the cycling of the elements between compartments.

Answer:

The Equilibrium is necessary for Bio - Geo - Chemical cycles due to the following:

(i) The cycles that involve the flow of nutrients on Earth(elements essential for the living cell) from the Environment to organisms and back through certain pathways are known as Bio - Geo - Chemical cycles.

(ii) A constant intersection, between the biotic and abiotic components components of the biosphere, makes it a dynamic, but stable system.

(iii) These interactions consists of transfer of matter and energy between the different components of the biosphere.

(iv) Bio - Geo - Chemical pathways determine the path of transfer of matter on the Earth.
