why ethanol does not react with carbonate or hydrogen carbonate?​

Explanation:

Sodium bicarbonate is a weak base as it's formed by weak base (sodium hydroxide) and weak acid (carbonic acid). - Also alcohol can act as weak acid/base like that of water. - Weak acids and bases don't react with other, therefore no reaction will occur between alcohol and sodium bicarbonate
