Why ethene dicolourise bromine water whereas ethane does not

Ethene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon which reacts with bromine molecules present in bromine water to form dibromide compound. Due to formation of this compound the colour of bromine water get decolourised which was earlier reddish brown. Ethane is a saturated hydrocarbon which does not undergoes substitution reaction and hence it does not react will ethene reacts
