Ethanoic acid (CH₃COOH) is commonly called acetic acid. They belong to a group of carboxylic acids.Unlike other mineral acids they ar not completly ionized. They also do not form H⁺ ions in an aqueous solution. Hence, they are weak acids

It is a weak acid as it has lower concentration of hydronium ions therefore cannot show acidic characteristics to a large extent.
