Why farmers in Bengal were protesting against indigo cultivation? Give at least two points.

Ryots in Bengal refused to grow indigo,and pay rent to planters.at some places ,they even attacked indigo factories.ryots were also refused to take advance to sow indigo. in September 1860,the peasants refused to grow indigo under any pressure
