Explanation: Plants absorb nutrients from the soil. Therefore, the amount of nutrients present in the soil goes on decreasing. In a forest, these nutrients get naturally replenished by decaying of dead plants and animals. However, on a farm these nutrients have to be added to the soil in the form of manures and fertilizers. These manures and fertilizers contain plant nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus.
