why field is left uncultivated for one or more seasons​

field is left uncultivated for sometime so that soil recovers it's fertility ....

any field if continue produce crop, the soil can lost its fertility. To maintain the fertility n the mineral balance the field is left uncultivated and crop rotation is also done for the same reason.
